Summer jobs<\/strong> is a great opportunity for young people. Temporary employment agencies are anticipating the best summer campaign of the last eight years.<\/p>\n

Chefs, waiters, airport staff and customer service experts will be the most highly-demanded profiles during the summer months according to a report by Randstad<\/strong>, a temporary employment agency, published in late May and that mentions the massive arrival of tourists as the reason for this favourable job creation trend. According to this company, 480,000 short-term jobs will be generated in hotels and restaurants, trade and transport; a 13% improvement over the previous year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Adecco experts also foresee a good summer campaign and calculate that 1,100,00 jobs will be created.<\/strong> According to Adecco, the profiles required will be chefs, waiters, forklift drivers, warehouse staff, tele-operators, shop assistants, room service staff and food handlers.<\/p>\n

As has been the case in previous years, languages will be almost essential to find a job in areas that attract international tourism. Although English is still the most highly-demanded language, German, Russian and French have also been requested in recent years<\/strong>. \u201cApart from the training that may be required for each job, team work, multi-tasking, commitment and involvement are important cross-cutting skills required for any summer job\u201d, says the Adecco report.<\/p>\n

Randstad considers that previous experience, in addition to the ability to adapt to a job quickly, will be another factor that companies will take into account when selecting new employees. In the case of the service sector, customer service, a good predisposition, communication and commercial skills and a proactive attitude will be extremely useful. The industrial sector will be looking for manual skills, tolerance to stress and a results-oriented attitude.<\/p>\n

Strengthening workforces<\/h4>\n

From the beginning of the crisis, many companies have restructured their workforces to deal with the summer months without having to hire temporary staff to cover holidays or to handle a greater demand as happens in certain sectors at this time of the year. However, for the first time since 2008, Adecco consultants have detected a change in the trend, as many companies are considering hiring additional staff for the summer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In fact, large companies like Vueling and Mercadona have already begun hiring people. The airline has announced it will be strengthening its workforce with new cabin crew, while Juan Roig\u2019s group will create 5,000 new jobs to strengthen its establishments in coastal areas.<\/strong>
\nIn addition, Injuve is promoting its Work Camp Programme, which provides the chance to organise volunteer projects in various parts of the world for more than 800 Spanish youths aged 18 to 30.<\/strong> These Youth Work Camps are designed to enable young people to enhance inter-cultural learning, personal development and solidarity while working as volunteers.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
