A survey has revealed that, after completing their studies, students want to earn 1,325 euros at their first job<\/h4>\n

A job in the training sector, or a large international company so that they can travel but continue to live in Spain, a fixed and secure salary, a stable job and the option to work as part of a team, are some of the preferences of Spanish university students. Based on this profile, most look forward to working in companies like Google, Amazon, Inditex, Mercedes Benz or Apple.<\/p>\n

The survey, conducted by Merco and PeopleMatters<\/strong>, presents the opinions of 9,100 last-year university students<\/strong> and students studying a master\u2019s degree or preparing their doctoral theses. According to this second edition of ‘Merco Talento Universitario<\/a>\u2019 (Merco University Talent), university students in Spain would like to earn a monthly wage of 1,325 euros at their first job<\/strong>. Based on the breakdown of the research, we find that female university students hope to earn a salary of 1,260 euros, 11% less than men (1,423 euros).<\/p>\n

In this line, we also find there is a gap affecting the various fields of study. For example, Health Science graduates trust they will earn 1,428<\/strong> euros a month, 18% more than Arts and Humanities students<\/strong>. On the other hand, students of other nationalities<\/strong> residing in Spain would expect to earn 1,570 euros on average.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Google and Amazon<\/h4>\n

The study also lists a selection of the 100 Best Companies to Work For in Spain according to university students. Among these, we can find Google, Amazon, Inditex, Mercedes Benz and Apple<\/strong>. These companies are followed by Mercadona, Santander, Coca-Cola, Microsoft and BBVA<\/strong>, to complete the Top 10.<\/p>\n

The report also notes that 55% of university students valued aspects<\/strong>, such a good remuneration and benefits<\/strong>, as well as quality of life. And 22% of respondents appreciate that companies facilitate access to training and professional development, job challenges and recognition.<\/p>\n

With regard to job sectors, when choosing their first job young people prefer jobs related to training (38.5%); culture and entertainment (35%); and auditing and consulting (32%). To start looking for a job, 20% of university students use employment websites or portals, followed by social networks (16%), while 11% expect to find a job through recommendations from family members or friends who work in companies.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
