En Panam\u00e1 los j\u00f3venes son los m\u00e1s afectados por el paro. En marzo de 2015 la tasa superaba el 5%, el 47% de ellos eran j\u00f3venes seg\u00fan datos elaborados por la Contralor\u00eda General de la Rep\u00fablica de Panam\u00e1.<\/p>\n

Las mujeres son las m\u00e1s afectadas siendo un 21% hasta 19 a\u00f1os y casi el 20% entre 20 y 24 a\u00f1os. Para los j\u00f3venes con edad de hasta 19 a\u00f1os, la tasa de desempleo alcanz\u00f3 al 15.6% y en el segmento de los que tienen entre 20 y 24 a\u00f1os impact\u00f3 al 14.1%.<\/p>\n

Para Ren\u00e9 Quevedo, consultor de Inserci\u00f3n Laboral Sostenible, hay varios factores con los que los j\u00f3venes se topan a la hora de abordar su primer empleo. Uno de ellos es, la falta de preparaci\u00f3n acad\u00e9mica para desempe\u00f1ar un puesto de trabajo, ya que no existen las plazas de trabajo suficientes para las cuales se han preparado y muchos se ven obligados a ejercer en puestos de trabajo para los que no est\u00e1n preparados acad\u00e9micamente. A esto se le suma la delincuencia, que tambi\u00e9n genera desempleo.<\/p>\n

Quevedo a\u00f1ade que, anualmente, \u201cla econom\u00eda agrega 5.549 empleos juveniles, para 88.000 egresados (21.000 universitarios) y 219.000 j\u00f3venes que no trabajan ni estudian (\u2018ninis’), la mayor\u00eda econ\u00f3micamente inactivos.
