José Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs, Assistant Director-General for Policy of the ILO, invited by the Novia Salcedo Foundation to visit the Basque Country, had held a meeting  with part of the Foundation’s team in which they were able to exchange information regarding on-going projects in the field of youth employment.

José Manuel Salazar, who displayed great interest in the youth employment programme with which this entity has helped 850 youths to obtain their first work experience, and in other youth employability enhancement programmes, encouraged the Foundation to continue in its endeavour to introduce youth employment in the Global Human Development Agenda by encouraging the General Assembly of the United Nations to declare the ‘Youth Employment Decade’.
