In his traditional Christmas message, King Felipe VI advocated that Spain must be able to ensure “sustained economic growth” and “decent” employment in order to reduce the inequalities generated by the economic crisis and “strengthen essential public services such as health and education”.

The monarch stated that improving the Spanish economy “is a priority for all”. “I think that all the institutions have a duty to the citizens, families and especially to young people, so that they can recover what we should never lose: the peace of mind and stability with which to face the future and the dream of a life project”, he said.
